Ready to use, liquid wood preservative!
Clear wood protection for the exterior that protects effectively against plant and animal wood pests, e.g. rot, blue stain and insect attack. Reduces swelling and shrinkage. According to the latest research, Osmo WR Base Coat protects against blue stain (EN 152), wood rot (EN 113) and wood-destroying insects (EN 46). Osmo WR Base Coat has a faint odour during the application but is odourless after drying. Osmo WR Base Coat cannot be used alone. To ensure full protection (UV radiation) and to preserve the long-term beauty of the wood, a topcoat with an Osmo coating system is required directly after fully curing. After applying the topcoat, a drying time of 24 hours must be observed.
Osmo WR Base Coat serves as a preventative protection for exterior wooden elements without direct ground contact that are not subject to static loads. WR Base Coat is suitable for dimensionally stable, limited dimensionally stable and non-dimensionally stable wood (e.g. windows, roller shutters, doors, pergolas, timber cladding, garden furniture etc.).
Ingredients
IPBC (5.0 g/kg), Tebuconazole (2.0 g/kg), Permethrin (0.6 g/kg). EU VOC limit value (2004/42/EC) for this product: out of scope.
Storage

NUMBER OF COATS
One coat is sufficient; a top coat is absolutely essential.
Surface preparation:
Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%). Osmo WR Base Coat is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well. Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints, varnishes and lacquers must be completely removed. Always wear a dust mask while sanding.
Methods of Application:
Brush / roller application. Application temperature: 10-30 °C (wood and product). Apply liberally to the clear, dry and frost-free wood if possible, on all sides. Application amount: 160 ml/m² for softwood 225 ml/m² for hardwood.
Cleaning of tools:
With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).
Drying time:
Approx. 12 hours (normal climatic conditions, 20-23°C / 50-65 % rel. humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity significantly increase drying times. If the wood should be subsequently coated with a polymer dispersion (Garden Colour, Garden Stain) (waterborne coatings), leave the impregnation to dry for at least 72 hours! Ventilate well while drying.
Note:
Recoat the impregnated wood within 3 months to avoid washing out the impregnation. Only use Osmo WR Base Coat in outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Keep coated surfaces out of reach of children and pets until fully dry. Must not be used near surface water or in water protection areas. During the application and the drying time, Osmo WR Base Coat must not be released into the environment. Product leakage must be collected (e.g. by covering the ground with a tarpaulin) and disposed of safely. Do not use on wood that may come into contact with food and animal feed or livestock. Keep cats due to their sensitivity to permethrin out of reach of treated surfaces.
Caution:
May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Contains Hydrocarbons C10-C13, n-alkanes, i-alkanes, cyclics, aromatics < 2 %; 3-Iodo-2-propynylbutylcarbamate . May produce an allergic reaction. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Do not breathe spray. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Avoid release to the environment. IF SWALLOWED: rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor. Collect spillage. Store locked up. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with national regulations. Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use!
Disposal:
Completely empty cans can be recycled as normal. Dispose left over product in the original container in compliance with local regulations. Do not dispose product residues or cleaning wastes into the sewer system (drains), into waterways or into the soil. Do not reuse empty containers.
