Surface preparation:
Wood surface must be clean and dry (moisture content max. 12%). The surface must acclimatise to the climatic conditions of the area of use. Surfaces should have a surface temperature of at least 18 °C. Higher temperatures and, especially, air movement have a positive effect on the drying process and film formation. Osmo Furniture Lacquer is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Old paints, varnishes and lacquers must be completely removed. Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood (Wood Filler or Wood Putty). Sand wood surfaces carefully. Begin with coarse sandpaper – final sanding work for furniture P120-180. Prior to the application, remove sanding dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Always wear a dust mask while sanding. The lacquer should be at room temperature during the application. The optimal application temperature is at 18-25 °C and a relative humidity of 50-60 %. Deviations in temperature and/or humidity shorten or extend the drying time significantly. The lowest temperature must not exceed 12 °C. The finished surface and the product coverage are influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.

Note:
The clear sealant will not enhance the wood colour and grain or at least only a little. The use of the sealant on sensitive wood species (especially exotic wood species) can lead to extractive leakage or greying. Dark wood species treated with waterborne sealants look paler than, for example, with Polyx®-Oil. If a stained surface is desired, we recommend, instead of priming, a coat of Osmo Oil Stain for the first coat. Please follow the product information sheet for Oil Stain! Ventilate well. Important: Before applying Furniture Lacquer, leave Oil Stain to dry for at least 48 hours. Not observing the drying time for Oil Stain may lead to insufficient adhesion between coats. Then the second and third coats can be carried out as described in the Methods of Application for Furniture Lacquer, each coat with 100-120 ml/m². Leave to dry for 16-24 hours. After 24 hours drying, the area can be lightly mechanically loaded. However, it should cure for at least one week before the final results in terms of mechanical and chemical resistance are achieved. We generally recommend carrying out a trial application on unknown or critical substrates.

Caution:
Contains benzisothiazolinone (BIT), methylisothiazolinone (MIT) ; mixture of: chloromethylisothiazolinone (CIT) and methylisothiazolinone (MIT) (3:1) (preservatives). May produce an allergic reaction. EU VOC limit value for this product: out of scope.

Disposal:
Dispose of product residues according to the official guidelines (European Waste Code (EWC)-Code 08 01 12). Only completely emptied cans can be recycled.
