NUMBER OF COATS
Two coats on raw wood; for renovations, normally one coat on the clean surface is sufficient – without sanding!

Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20 %). Clean or slightly sand old microporous finishes, remove old varnish
(Osmo Paint Remover or by sanding). Always wear a dust mask when sanding. Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain is ready-to-use, please do not thin, stir
well before use. If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation.
The finished surface and the product coverage are influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
Apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the wood grain with Osmo Flat Brush, Coating Applicator Fleece or Osmo Microfibre Roller and spread well. Leave to dry for approx. 4-6 hours. Ventilate well. After drying, apply a second coat also thinly and quickly. When renovating, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.
With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).
Approx. 12 hours (normal climatic conditions, 20-23°C/ 50-65 % rel. humidity). Ventilate well while drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times. After 2-3 weeks, the surface is fully cured.
Dried surface is satin-glossy at first and is afterwards satin. Light-coloured transparent finishes offer only limited UV protection and are therefore not recommended for surfaces exposed to strong sunlight. The transparent colour tone is influenced by the natural wood colour and may deviate from the colour chart. Many wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives which may leach out naturally when weathered. Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain Effect contains biocides and is therefore only to be used on exterior areas. The added active ingredients delay or minimise the risk of algae and fungal attack. For effective protection, two coats are to be carried out. In accordance with the latest technical research, permanent protection against algae and fungal attack cannot be provided.
