Tips for white wooden floors

The right staining

Staining with Polyx®-Oil Tints

Apply two coats with Polyx®-Oil Tints 3040 White. Leave the wood surface to dry for approx. 24 hours between coats.

Staining with Wood Wax Finish

Normal staining
First apply one coat with Wood Wax Finish (3111 White, 3186 White Matt or 3188 Snow) and top coat with a clear Polyx®-Oil. Intense colour applications with Wood Wax Finish are not possible on flooring. A second coat is not recommended.

Subtle staining
Mix Wood Wax Finish and Polyx®-Oil Original in a mixing ratio of 1:10, and apply the first coat with the mixture. The second coat is carried out with Osmo Polyx®-Oil Tints 3040 White.

The right care

White floors are really beautiful, but they are also really high-maintenance. Over time, the wax layer wears away. The result: tiny dust particles penetrate the wood surface and can be seen as small black dots in the white stain. We recommend treating the surface with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner 3087 White every two or three months. This product not only replenishes valuable oils and waxes, but it contains white pigments, too. After this care treatment, the floor will look like new again.
