Spot repairs for clear coated flooring

A wooden floor treated with Polyx®-Oil can be repaired easily – also spot repairs are possible. This is a key advantage over lacquered areas.

Here's how:

1. Separate the damaged area with masking tape.

2. Thoroughly sand the damaged area. The grit size of final sanding work should match the finished surface of the surrounding floorboards.

3. Remove sanding dust from the sanded area thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner.

4. Apply a thin layer of clear Polyx®-Oil evenly with Osmo Microfibre Roller.

5. Dry for approx. 8-10 hours. Ventilate well while drying.

6. Once dry, apply another layer of clear Polyx®-Oil with a lint-free cotton cloth.

7. If the gloss level does not match the surrounding area after drying, it can be adjusted by polishing with Liquid Wax Cleaner.
