Variety of colours and unsurpassed durability – for all weather conditions!
Transparent, satin oil based wood stain for all wood in outdoor areas. Microporous stain allows the wood to breathe and reduces swelling and shrinkage. Water-repellent, extremely weatherproof and UV stable. Will not crack, peel, flake or blister. Simply recoat without sanding or primer. Easy and seamless application. Wood stain stays workable while coating. The dry wood stain is safe for humans, animals and plants (resistant to saliva and perspiration acc. German DIN 53160, suitable for children’s toys acc. EN 71.3).
Osmo Decking-Oil protects and maintains timber decking, garden furniture and privacy screens made of numerous coniferous and fine woods, such as pressure impregnated Pine, Douglas Fir, Cedar, Oak or Bangkirai – also suitable as a transparent colour treatment of Teak, Eucalyptus and other fine woods as well as thermally treated wood.

NUMBER OF COATS
Two coats on raw wood; for renovations, normally one coat on the clean surface is sufficient – without sanding!

Wood species with a high content of natural wood extractives need to weather off (min. 4 weeks) before the initial treatment or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner (degreaser). Resinous wood, such as Larch or Douglas Fir, needs to weather off for at least 6 weeks. Pressure impregnated wood, Massaranduba, Bangkirai or Garapa need to weather off for at least 3 months. Degrey any already greyed wood with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel before applying Osmo Decking-Oil. Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%). Osmo Decking-Oil is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Thoroughly clean or lightly sand old microporous stains or completely remove old varnishes before application. Always wear a dust mask while sanding. If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation. If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insect attack is desired, pre-treat the wood, if possible on all sides, with Osmo WR Impregnation.
The finished surface and the product coverage are influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
With a stiff brush (Osmo Flat Brush) or a lint free cloth (e.g. for furniture), apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood surface. Always work with wood grain. For a quick and easy application, we recommend using Osmo Decking Brush (150 mm) which is tailor-made for decking and allows you to apply the finish while standing. Apply thinly and evenly. Allow for good ventilation while drying. Then apply the second coat – also thinly. If a more subtle colour is desired, the second coat should be carried out with clear Anti-Slip Decking Oil.
With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).
Approx. 12 hours (normal climatic conditions, 20-23°C / 50-65 % rel. humidity). Ventilate well while drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times.
As a clear top coat for decking, we recommend clear Anti-Slip Decking Oil. This offers higher pigment protection which increases the durability of the finish against wear and weather. For especially mechanically loaded areas (e.g. decking), we recommend inspecting the surface at least once a year and possibly recoating it with the appropriate finish. Due to their surface properties, ribbed or grooved as well as rough (sawn) wood surfaces absorb more product per square metre than smooth surfaces. Many wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives which may leach out naturally when weathered.
Keep out of reach of children.
